Many Pakistani politicians come from wealthy and influential families, which gives them an advantage in politics. Family connections and wealth can help them gain support from voters and fund their campaigns. Corruption is a major problem in Pakistani politics, with many politicians accused of embezzlement, bribery, and other illegal activities. Despite efforts to reduce corruption, it remains a significant issue in the Country and yet nobody does a thing about it. unfortunately, people who are responsible for the demolition of such corrupt acts are themselves, deeply embedded in the system. A chain of command of corrupt bureaucrats and politicians.
However, some politicians in Pakistan have ties to extremist groups, which can be a cause for concern. This is particularly true in the case of political parties that have a self-defined religious and sectarian agenda. Women, on the other hand, are underrepresented in Pakistani politics, with only a small number of female politicians holding significant positions of power. This is despite efforts to increase female representation in politics through gender quotes and other measures.
Political violence is not uncommon in Pakistan, with politicians and political activists sometimes targeted by militant groups. This can make it difficult for politicians to campaign and express their views freely without fear of reprisals. These politicians often rely on populist rhetoric and promise to gain support from voters, but many struggle to follow through on their commitments once in office. This can lead to disillusionment among voters and a lack of trust in the political system.
Hence it is concluded by several analysts that the political system of Pakistan is completely flawed. How credible can a system be when almost 60% of the population does not even bother to vote? This blog post was to highlight certain challenges and complexities faced by politicians and people, likewise, in Pakistan. However, it is essential to keep it in perspective that where there are many black sheep in Pakistan’s Politics, there are those who are not the same and are passionately dedicated to improving the political situation in Pakistan.
