KAZAKHSTAN EAGER TO IMPORT RICE

Kazakhstan is interested in importing rice directly from Pakistan. In a meeting with Federal Minister for National food security and research Syed Fakhar Imam the Kazakhstan’s envoy revealed that they have been buying the commodity from Russia. Kazakhstan is hosting a trade summit in Almaty for Pakistani companies in May 2022 to showcase their potential before the business community of Kazakhstan. Over 60 companies will be participating in that summit from various sectors of Pakistan.

In a meeting that took place in November 2021 .Both countries agreed on increasing the agricultural turnover for both nations. Economic, Scientific ,technical and cultural cooperation between the two nations is expected to enhance bilateral ties between the two nations in coming years. In a occasion ,minister of National food security and research Fakhar Imam elaborated that Pakistan is currently producing Sulphur rice and potatoes that can be exported to Kazakhstan. Since Pakistan is looking forward to strengthen the relation with Kazakhstan and its business community , the trade between the two nations is utmost priority . Even though the trade with Kazakhstan is the highest among all central Asian countries it is still below the true potential . Hopefully with collaboration in scientific research both nations are keen to take advantage of the opportunities at hand and ensure maximum output from immense cooperation between the two nations.
For many years local agriculture has been dependent on traditional farming techniques so it’s time to foresee the coming era of modernization and mold the agriculture sector into new innovative ways of production and farming techniques.
An online meeting in April 2022 between the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of National food security and Research will be held to further enhance cooperation.
