Canada Wins Olympic Gold in Women’s Ice Hockey, Defeating Opponent Team USA
Beijing (Ipaktv News): Canada wins their fifth Olympic gold medal after they defeated their long-time rival & defending champion United States while scoring 3-2 in the women’s ice hockey final on Thursday.
Since the introduction of women’s hockey in the year 1998 Winter Olympics, either Canada or the U.S has been winning every gold medal, In 2018 Pyongyang Games Team USA defeated its northern neighbors in a gold medal match.
After failing to replace Canada’s strong start, USA will take home the fourth silver medal in its history.
The Canadians had a 2-0 lead in the first half, which was extended to 3 before the Americans scored their first goal. Team USA scored again with just 13 seconds left in the game, but by then it was too late.
