DUBAI POLICE CLAMPING AGAINST ILLEGAL STREET RACERS

A bit of luxury, and a lot of power, will help keep the streets safe. The Maserati Grand Turismo has joined Dubai Police’s long list of supercars .Capable of up to 300km/h, the 4.7 V8 will help the police tackle supercar speedsters. It joins the likes of the Dubai Police Lamborghini, Bugatti and Aston Martin models. The Dubai Police has been using supercars to help patrol the streets for more than 15-years
Anywhere else in the world, this would seem like some kind of joke, but here, it’s business as usual for the Dubai Police Force. The Force now has a total of 15 sports cars in its fleet, according to Lt-Col Dr. Mubarak Saeed Benawas Al Kutbi, Director of the Tourist Police Department.
These cars include: the Bugatti Veyron (obviously), the Lamborghini Aventador, the super luxury Bentley Continental, and even an Aston Martin One-77(where only 77 exist in the world). The list goes on, but if you can conjure up the image of the coolest cars in the world right now, the Dubai Police probably has one of them.
Speaking of awesome motors, the Maserati GranTurismo is no exception, adding some Italian craftsmanship to the fleet. Boasting a 4.7 litre V8 engine, allowing around 300km/h.

The new car was announced by His Excellency Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. He said that using these exotic and head-turning cars is part of achieving unparalleled security presence in areas such as the Burj Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard and Jumeirah Beach Residence.
Who is going to want to break laws round here when the police can get to you in the blink of an eye? The cool thing about this decision from the Force is not only does it bolster security in the most populated parts of Dubai, it is also an undeniable tourist attraction, how many super police cars do you know outside of Dubai?
