According to recent released document by United States space command a first known interstellar meteor hit Earth along the northeast coast of ‘Papua New Guinea’ on January 8th, 2014. An interstellar meteor is a space rock that originates from outside our solar system. It’s a rare occurrence. This meteor was known as CNEOS 2014-01-08. In 2019 Amir Siraj an undergraduate student of Harvard University studied the object and in presence of ‘Abraham Loeb‘ ,Professor of Science At Harvard University identified the object as an interstellar meteor. The meteors high velocity caught Siraj’s eye. The meteor was moving at 28 miles per second.
According to researchers, since earth orbits around the sun , the meteor could have hit earth head on ,meaning opposite the direction the planet is moving or from behind, in the same direction the Earth is moving. Since the meteor hit the earth from behind ,according to Siraj’s calculations the meteor was actually travelling at about 37.3 miles per second i.e 60 kilometers per second. According to the calculations researchers made the meteor was in an unbound orbit .unlike the closed orbit of other meteors .Which means that apart from other meteors that circle around the sun .This meteor came from outside the solar system.
“Presumably, it was produced by another star, got kicked out of that star’s planetary system and just so happened to make its way to our solar system and collide with Earth,” Siraj said.
‘Professor Loeb’ and ‘Siraj’ were unable to publish their findings because their date came from NASA’s database. NASA was not sure of how accurate their readings were that is why they didn’t allow them to publish their journal till now. After years of trying to obtain additional information regarding interstellar meteor ‘Jhon Shaw’ ,Deputy commander of the US space command allowed them to publish their findings .
“Dr. Joel Mozer, the Chief Scientist of Space Operations Command, the United States Space Force service component of U.S. Space Command, reviewed analysis of additional data available to the Department of Defense related to this finding. Dr. Mozer confirmed that the velocity estimate reported to NASA is sufficiently accurate to indicate an interstellar trajectory,” wrote Shaw in the letter.
According to Siraj’s research team there is a huge fragment of the meteor that hit the pacific ocean as well . They are eager to get their hands on what they call it as” Holy Grail of Interstellar Objects” .Siraj and his team are curious to learn more about the objects beyond the World we live in . They expect to achieve a break through with their research on the object. To understand and obtain certain surreal material from that meteor fragment that might help our scientist accomplish wonders.
What they don’t seem to realize is that it maybe just a rock from another planet as a sign from ALLAH AL-MIGHTY for us humans to think about the worst possible outcome. What if that meteor fragment hit Earth head-on and was catastrophic enough for these so called Nuclear powers in the World. May be it’s just a piece of a small rock thrown at us to understand that there is still time for us to contemplate and rectify our lives according to the will of ALLAH S.W.T.
“I thought that we would never learn the true nature of this meteor, that it was just blocked somewhere in the government after our many tries, and so actually seeing that letter from the Department of Defense with my eyes was a really incredible moment,” Siraj said.
CONCLUSION
So apparently the scientists of the World are blinded by the simple fact that there is 0.0000009% of what they know about space and what’s happening around them every milli-second of the day and night . May ALLAH grant them faith and open their eyes to the reality of life that we humans are nothing but specs of dust made from dust. The only purpose of our lives is to understand and observe what our creator has bestowed us with. The sooner we realize it the better .Otherwise the doors of hell are always open for those who don’t or won’t believe in HIS higher power.
